What is the difference between Australian and Chinese mains plugs?

It is possible to interchange the connectors but not recommended. The chinese cables are stamped with the official chinese approvals logo, as shown below:

Whilst the australian has their own approvals, as shown below:

SAA Logo

These approval stamps are one of the only ways of telling the difference between connectors. You may experience problems selling one in the other country, particularly if you are trying to sell a finished product that itself requires approvals from the local regulators.

Physically the pins are at the same angle and proportion, except that there is a 1mm difference in the length of the pins.
