An IEC C13 to IEC C8 mains power adaptor This product should only be for used for PAT testing or other electrical tests as this product is not earthed
This product is designed for PAT testing and similar usages. If used in other situations they can be dangerous, for example:
1. C13 is a 10 amp rated connector. C8 is a 2.5 amp connector. As you can imagine, if the device that receives the C13 actually pulls 10 amps that is four times the rating of the C8. In that situation it is possible that the C7 cable you are using with it could overheat and potentially cause a fire.
2. C13 is a Class 1 connector, i.e. it has an earth. C8 is a Class 2 connector, i.e. it has no earth. If a fault condition were to develop when using the adaptor to power a device that is not double insulated its chassis could become live and that has the potential to cause death or serious injury if someone were to touch it.
